Meet Dr. Mir

Dr. Yadira Mir, Psy.D., is a licensed psychologist and pediatric neuropsychologist based in Florida. As the founder of Your Mind Center, she specializes in providing comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations and psychotherapy tailored for children, adolescents, and young adults. Dr. Mir's expertise spans a wide range of conditions, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, learning disorders, developmental delays, autism, epilepsy, cancer, traumatic brain injuries, and genetic disorders.

Dr. Mir is particularly passionate about supporting young people through various developmental stages. Her psychotherapy services for children and teenagers focus on addressing emotional, behavioral, and social challenges, while her work with young adults—particularly those navigating college or early career transitions—emphasizes stress management, personal development, and academic success. A focal point of her practice includes working with young professionals and high-level executives to address the unique demands and pressures faced by these leaders, focusing on stress management, personal development, and work-life balance.

Fluent in both English and Spanish, Dr. Mir offers her services in both languages, bringing a deep understanding of diverse cultural backgrounds to her practice. Dr. Mir earned her Doctoral degree with Honors in Clinical Psychology from Albizu University, an APA-accredited institution. Since 2008, she has been dedicated to the assessment and psychotherapy of children, adolescents, and young adults. Her post-doctoral fellowship in Pediatric Neuropsychology at Nicklaus Children's Hospital (formerly Miami Children's Hospital) provided her with extensive experience in a leading national brain institute. There, she worked with multidisciplinary teams to deliver neuropsychological evaluations and psychotherapy for various conditions, including epilepsy, neuro-oncology, genetic disorders, ADHD, autism, learning disorder, depression, and anxiety. Her role also involved supervising neuropsychological practicum students, further reflecting her commitment to the field.

During her APA-accredited internship in Pediatric Neuropsychology at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital, Dr. Mir provided neuropsychological services and cognitive rehabilitation to inpatients and outpatients dealing with traumatic brain injuries, brain tumors, and other neurological conditions; as well as psychotherapy for depression, anxiety, adjustment to medical conditions and cognitive changes. Her experience extends to supervising doctoral-level practicum students in pediatric neuropsychology, showcasing her dedication to training future professionals.

In addition to her specialized work with children and adolescents, Dr. Mir has extensive experience in providing psychotherapy to young adults. Her work includes counseling and supporting young professionals in managing the unique stressors associated with early career challenges.

Dr. Mir is also committed to psychoeducational outreach, having facilitated groups aimed at improving social and interpersonal skills for children and adolescents. Her presentations at Miami Dade College have focused on helping young adults navigate the transition to college and career, with a particular emphasis on stress management and cognitive development.
